Subject: Was wondering if I could ask you a question
I was searching the web and found your site tonight.
My Daughter (16) called from school today (her last week) She said that the
school nurse had told her she would not be allowed to take her finals and
would fail the school year if she didn't get her shot today. (TD-[tetanus
and diptheria])
I went to return the call and the office informed me she was
"absent" today, I siad no, that she had called. Well apparently
the school nurse had her borrow money $30 from another student, so she could
drive my daughter to the clinic to get her the shot. Without my or my husband's
consent.
Can they do this? (we live in TX)
Thanks for any help
Dora

Hi,
Well I have still have not heard a word from the school. I wrote a little
letter to the nurse and the school principle, also contacted the Superintendents
office. NO ONE has contacted me. She received a TD (that is what it says on
the shot record they sent home)
I contacted the clinic who gave her the shot - they were VERY apologetic,
they said it was "assumed" she had consent because she was with
the school.
