Hey Mike,
I need you to call me and give me your phone number again. I am sorry, but
I think I misplaced it when we evacuated Galveston for Rita. We are alright
now, and have been back in our apartment since Monday night. As you know
by now, the government caused total and complete chaos when they told over
two million people to evacuate. I knew the day they were telling people
to evacuate using their evacuation plan, that it would cause a horrible
situation like what happened on the freeway in Houston. You can give this
personal first-hand account of the chaos caused by our government to anyone
you come across who still thinks we have a good government that would never
hurt its own people. At best, government officials even at the local level
are completely incompetent, and at worse they are complicit in the evil
corruption of the federal government. The "evacuation plan" of
the Houston area according to FEMA had to to be federally approv ed, so
that means that yet again the federal government and it's local minions
caused mass CHAOS beginning last Wednesday.
As a former sheriff's deputy, I had enough sense to know that the plan they
had to "evacuate" the immediate coastline (Galveston, Freeport,
etc), then the area south of Houston, then southeast and east Houston, all
within 24 hours and force everyone to use only two or three highways I-45,
I-59, and State Highway 6, would cause massive gridlock WORSE THAN EVER
before in the whole southeast Texas area.
Even though my mother and I left with a full tank of gas,
we almost ran out before we could find a station open that still had some
gas, then we had to wait in line about 30-40 minutes to get the gas (at
this point, we were about 20-25 miles west of Houston).
Conditions at that time were far worse in Houston. It toook
us fifteen hours, that's FIFTEEN HOURS!!! to get from Galveston to Bryan,
a trip that normally takes two and a half hours. We left about 5:50 pm Wednesday
evening and arrived in Bryan at about 9:00 am the next morning. Even though
we were travelling at night, my mother almost passed out two or three times
and our vehicle was starting to overheat.
We paseed by numerous people who were stranded. The only reason
we made it at all was THAT WE DID NOT FOLLOW THE GOVERNMENT'S "EVACUATION
PLAN", but rather took our own route. They were literally trying
to force everyone into the Houston area even if you didn't have to go through
Houston to get to your loved one's place for safety from the storm. For
those of us in Galveston, they were forcing everyone to go up I-45 to Huntsville,
but we didn't know anyone in Hunstville to stay with, so we went to Bryan.
We had to literally sneak around several police roadblocks to get to the
route that we needed to take. If we had followed the government's "plan"
I AM CERTAIN MY MOTHER WOULD HAVE DIED from heatstroke and stress on the
freeway last week!
My mother and I felt like throwing up on Wednesday before we left because
all day long in the news, government "officials" kept patting
themselves on the back saying that they had had this meeting and that meeting
for the evacuation plan and that this we be and organiazed evacuation. Little
did we know just how severe the CHAOS was going to be until we actually
left and headed out. There are so many of us that were deliberately put
through a living hell needlessly by what is supposed to "our government"
that there has literally been public talk of executing government "officials"
!!!
