Hi Jeff,

I just saw this debunking piece posted at your site ( http://www.rense.com/general41/noblack.htm) concerening the sightings of black uniformed troops in the border areas of BC and I need to respond with a few observations of my own.

For starters, I did not author the report. It was written by Mark Metcalf who was responding and commenting on articles printed in a local BC newspaper. the Nelson News. The unidentified debunking author ("From Name Protected") of that story made statements that defy both logic and common sense, let alone the absence of verisimilitude in the tenor of his presentation. Let me explain:

1. He begins with a reference to Canada's draconian gun laws which make it even tougher to carry around firearms in the woods there than here in the USA (mind you, we are talking about public property). He's rightfully concerned that hikers with cell phones WOULD report ANY group of men carrying arms in the woods- civilian or military. The crucial difference being that civilians dressed up in military garb would be swept up by the RCMP in a matter of minutes and hauled off to the local hooscow to be interrogated in order to find out what they were up to. BONA FIDE armed military men, on the other hand, all dressed in similar black uniforms who had the tacit APPROVAL of the Canadian governemnt would NOT be picked up or questioned or approached in any way. Of course, that's what's taking place. That's why the paper keeps reporting hikers running into these military "patrols".

2. The anonymous debunker says that they tell any hikers they run into that they "...are on military exercises, this is a restricted area" in order to "save our skin". Sorry, that one doesn't wash either: Hikers with cell phones who run into a group of armed men are going to call the RCMP to report such an encounter-no matter how they are dressed or WHAT they were told.

3. He doesn't give his fellow Canadians much credit when he says: "To the majority of people out there, any black rifle is a machine gun". I'm sorry, but an 11 year old child can easily recognize the difference between a machine gun and a conventional rifle. It's not as if this is the 1890's and people never have the opportunity to see such armaments. I think it's fairly certain that if these hikers saw rifles they would report men with RIFLES and men with machine guns are probably carrying MACHINE GUNS.

4. If the anonymous debuker and his "friends" were truly the "troops" involved and were "...just as freaked out as the hikers!" they wouldn't be acting with such grim mind sets and making such fear-provoking threats, as pointing machine guns at the hikers, etc. Genuine civilains wouldn't DREAM of behaving that way as they would SURELY KNOW they would be reported and arrested immediately by the RCMP.

5. As to the lame attempt to diffuse the existence of secret underground military bases with local mining tunnels, I won't bother to address that childish absurdity other than to remind the reader that the debunker is the person who is hiding behind anonimity, not the authors of these reports. That ought to tell you something right there.

I reside in BC, Canada, and would think it a far stretch that those people in their black outfits are just a bunch of guys having fun. Canada for several months now have been rewriting their laws, and this is certainly not sitting well with some countries, the US being a good example. Canadians for the most part are very laid back, and are not the type to get involved with any type of game playing, and "playing" soldier would certainly be on the very bottom of the list. The closest we would come to this is the local paint ball arcade, but that would be just about it.

We are really not too keen on running around with rifles and black uniforms. In farming communities this would be a good way to get shot by a local farmer thinking you are a poacher. And we certainly would not be running close to the US border, nor by any hiking trails, as this is a good way to end up in jail. As these are two sensitive areas, and not open to hunting season it would be illegal for anyone to enter into these areas with guns.
