[Editor's Note: Rick Santee is a very competent dark field microscopist. He often attended health expos and worked in the offices of many alternative physicians here in southern California. They then set about ruining your life by arraying a laundry list of bogus and fabricated criminal charges against you in order to drain you of every penny you own and usually force you to plea bargain with them in order to avoid a long prison term (because you don't have the megabucks it takes to mount a serious defense against the unlimited resources of zealous government prosecutors). They also force you to sign an agreement to never again engage in the helpful and humane work that caused you to get arrested in the first place. I was held without bail for five days; my bail was then set at one million dollars.I spent eleven days in jail. I just spoke with Rick Santee on the phone today and he read me the laundry list of bogus charges that I KNEW IN ADVANCE would be leveled against him. And, just I had assumed, the CALIFORNIA MEDICAL BOARD was the driving force behind the raid on Rick's home, office, and post office box. And, as expected, Rick confirmed to me that they sent in spies and ringers in the past couple of months, posing as people in health distress, in order to set him up for entrapment (so what else is new?). He mentioned that the California Medical Board wanted to use him as a scapegoat to try and kill the the "577' law that was passed a few years ago in California, Rhode Island, and Minnesota which allowed greater access to alternative information and therapies. Rick said that a doctor he knew in Rhode Island was raided in a similar fashion a few days earlier ( bank account frozen, computers, files, etc. taken from his home and office, a typical Gestapo stomping)

Here are a few of Rick Santee's TEN FELONY COUNTS .

1. Charge: Practicing medicine without a license. Reality: Giving people printed articles taken off the Internet of various natural therapies. Rick never treated anybody for anything as far as I know. Rick was in the information distribution business.

2. Charge: Weapons charges; possession of HAND GRENADES and other dangerous weapons. Reality: Rick Santee had a side business as a PROP MASTER with film studios in southern California and had FAKE, hand grenade PROPS on his desk as paperweights. He had MOVIE PROP guns designed to fire BLANKS and 'movie rounds". These props are made special for the movie industry, are not real guns, and are INCAPABLE OF FIRING ORDINARY BULLETS.

3. Charge: Grand theft. Reality: Rick sold ozone water purifiers and they were delivered to the people who paid for them. Rick has no idea what the basis of this charge is.

4. Charge: Identity Theft: Reality: Rick has no idea who the person is they claim he had stolen identity from(??)

For a number of years, Rick has been providing health information to clients in the Los Angeles area. On April 8, he was arrested at his home in West Hollywood. Ten felony charges were filed against him. According to his lawyer, the most serious of those is practicing medicine without a license. Rick states that he was held without bail for 12 days in LA County jail. That he was held in a very high security area. Then bail was set at a million dollars. Efforts were successful at reducing bail and Rick is now out of jail, awaiting arraignment on May 19 in a Van Nuys, California, courtroom.

At stake is nothing less than the right of citizens to choose what health measures to take on their own behalf, as well as the right of a consultant to provide information to those citizens.

THIS IS ALL ABOUT CHOICE.

THIS IS ALL ABOUT THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE.

Governor Arnold S is supposed to know about that. This travesty is taking place in his state, California, where a gigantic amount of commerce flows in the realm of alternative health. If Rick Santee's case moves forward in the usual manner, it will send a signal to every person in the state of California that freedom is NOT a concern and health is NOT a concern.

Is California a medical police state? Is that how it wants to be known?

I suspect that government spies were sent into Rick's lectures on health, and into his office, to act as conduits in building a case against him.

I know Rick personally. I have known him for a dozen years. He was of great assistance to me in my campaign for a seat in the US Congress (1994). That campaign highlighted HEALTH FREEDOM as an issue of great importance.

Some people may have thought that these horrendous arrests of people in the alternative-health field were behind us. That is obviously not the case.
