Ken,
I have so enjoyed your website. It is one of the few places I know of that I can actually gain some enlightenment. An incredible amount of data and insights all in one place. Thank you so much for your efforts. Now, I have read a lot of stuff. I understand much now about consciousness, preparedness, health, etc. But, it is all just too much for me. Which is true? Which is not true? Which is useful? Which is alive? Which is dead? I’ve heard it said that too much knowledge is almost as bad as too little knowledge. Is there some correct format that we can travel toward right living? There is more to life for me than just becoming filled with knowledge, and some awfully scary knowledge. How can we maintain our sanity and direction?
I do believe that good overcomes evil. Have any ideas?

Hi Alyn,
I'm not going to tell you what to believe because that is not what I should be doing. You will discover what is true in your own time and in your own way. Life is a journey towards enlightenment and union with God.
Intellectual knowledge has its place, but spiritual development brings the greatest rewards, including the freedom from the fear of pain or death. When we are younger and less aware, we assume that the correct posture is a struggle of good over evil, but for me, it's more a matter of understanding that the Creator allows both good and evil to exists as learning tools. If you wish to be free and live in harmony with kindred souls and expand into higher levels of consciousness, you will support the Golden Rule. If you are controlled by the seven earthly passions and cannot see the folly of evil ways which leads to enslavement and unending worry, you might be seduced by the Dark side with its temporary pleasures or power, but misery and torment will be your constant companions.
The format has been well laid our in numerous texts both ancient and new. From the Vedas to the Bible to the books of Paramahansa Yogananda, Theresa Neumann, and many, many others, the story is the same:
1. Live the Golden Rule ("Do unto others...)
2. Be truthful in all things..
3. Release all negative feelings towards anybody or anything. You and everyone and everything in the universe are part of God. We are all connected. Hatred is an immature emotion that works against your spiritual progression. Use compassion where appropriate and understanding for those who would take advantage of it.
4. Understand and follow the seven Universal Laws or Hermetic Principles, etc.
Yogananda always said that simply asking God (on a regular basis) to take charge of your daily life and make all of your decisions for you is the easiest way to get through life, assuming you're doing your part through right living. Assistance and 'good luck' will seem to become the norm. You have to ask for help though, it won't be pushed on you. Respecting Free Will is the top priority among advanced spiritual beings.
