Subject: Incorrect information in 9/11 article on Educate-Yourself's
'Current News' column...
In your "Current News" column, John Kaminski presents an article
called "The Fatal Flaw In The 9/11 Coverup." In it, he states arguments
for not believing that terrorists flew the planes into the WTC on 9/11. He
ticks them off like a catechism. Many of his facts I had not heard before,
and that got my interest going. But one of them I HAD heard before... And
it is FALSE! About 30 lines down, he states matter-of-factly: "And we
have a president sitting in a ghetto classroom in Florida, at possibily the
most pivotal moment in American history, pretending to read a book that he
was holding upside down."
Unfortunately, this little snippet of "fact" ruins his entire premise.
The 'photo' of George Dubya holding the book upside down was doctored. It
was a hilarious image, spreading over the internet like wildfire. However,
he did not hold a book upside down. It is not true. You can corroborate this
by going to www.snopes.com/photos/bushbook.asp, or any other urban myth web
page.
Because this one fact is so outrageously wrong, I can't help but wonder how
many of his other facts are wrong... And by extension, I am concerned that
this article will make people wonder how many other articles on your web page
are bogus. You have worked too hard on this page for one bad writer to ruin
your reputation!

Hi Greg,
What you say may or may not be accurate. I do recall seeing a photo within
a day or two of 911 and he was shown holding the book upside down. It's entirely
possible that pro-Bush spin doctors put out the story about the photo being
retouched. It's not like he doesn't have agents working on his behalf in various
fed agencies doing damage control over the internet. God knows they doctor
everything else in the news to suit their purposes. So your premise that the
photo was doctored has to be proven beyond doubt first before I'm willing
to accept it as fact.
But whether the photos was doctored or not is a rather trivial point when
one considers the body of Kamishki's statements about the multitude of lies
put out by this administration concerning 911.
If you are ready to dismiss everything that Kiminski has written based soley
on this single photo and whether is was doctored or not , then I would say
you were a person who is rather "easy" to sway by the Bush Team
of liars.
Regards, Ken

Thanks for your response, Ken! I am sure you are very busy, but you took the
time to write back...
My concern is for the perceived legitimacy of your web page, and all the work
it represents.
As you say, "...whether the photo was doctored or not is a rather trivial
point when one considers the body of Kamishki's statements about the multitude
of lies put out by this administration concerning 911." (That is damned
good writing, by the way!)
My concern was that I KNOW one of his statements is wrong. So how many others
are wrong? Will his bad writing make your web page look less legitimate? In
fact, couldn't he be an agent of Bush's 'misinformation machine'?
Am I easily swayed? Perhaps... I swallowed a lot of ridiculous stories - many
from your web page - before I found corroborating evidence in places like
the National Geographic, BBC, CNN and other fairly independent sources. Now
I KNOW these "stories" are theories that are more accurate than
the 'official' news we have been spoon-fed.
But if Kaminski's article had been one of the first I read, his poor research
and emotional accusations would have made every other article on your web
page look less legitimate... less respectable... A terrible price for you
to pay.
I was trying to help you by pointing out his error. If you are not interested,
that is fine. It is your web page...
But I find it interesting that your reaction was to accuse me rather than
review the evidence. Caveat emptor, right?
Illegitimati non carborundum est... (Don't let the bastards grind you down.)

Hi Gregory,
I don't agree with your analysis or opinion concerning Kaminski. He's one
of the most perceptive and intelligent writers on the internet. Fortunately,
the info I post on my web site is guided by my opinion and not yours, so please
don't concern yourself about my 'perceived legitimacy '.
As far as Kamiski being a Bush agent,... well I think you have a rather active
imagination.
