I received an e-mail on May 22, 2010 from a man in Germany named Anke who had a few questions about ozone. His reply to me and questions are re-printed below. I decided to share my response to him since so many people suffer NEEDLESSLY from chronic gum and tooth infections, when it's SO EASY to clean up mouth infections at home using simple, inexpensive, and easy-to-obtain natural germ fighters.
Since Anke specifically asked about applying ozone for gum infections, I first explain how I use my small air fed, home ozone machine, normally used to sterilize veggies or fruits and to ozonate water or olive oil, as a powerful germ-destroying therapy which can be applied to ANY external infection on the body. After reviewing my ozone procedure, I added some other ideas for fighting tooth and gum infections with natural germ fighters that are easy to obtain in most locations. Here's Anke's e-mail: . :

Hi Ken,
Thank you so much for your quick response.
Regarding the ozone machine and its use for dental health, how do you apply it to
your mouth? Do you use it externally only, or do you apply the ozone inside the mouth with a particular attachment to the air tube of the device? I saw all kinds of
interesting looking dental attachments to ozone machines on the internet, but since they are dental care devices exclusively, they are very expensive.
My biggest concern at the moment is that I have the beginning of gum infection at
the gum line of a few teeth, and one infected root canal, that they say can only be
pulled out to be solved permanently. I have already been losing my teeth at a rapid rate with the traditional dentristry methods, and I am in desperate need of a better alternate solution.
How about chronic inflammation from repetivite strain injury? Do ou think that it might have any success with that?
I very much appreciate your website. Thank you so much!
Greetings from Germany,
Anke

Hello Anke,
I'll be writing an article about this, but the way I do it is to place the 1/4 inch hose from the ozone machine in my mouth (without an air stone attached) and add a second larger diameter plastic hose (3/8 or 1/2 inch diameter) as an outlet for the ozone gas going into my mouth. I close my lips around the two hoses. The second hose is about 4 feet long and I point it away from the body and laying on the floor. I only breathe through my nose and not through my mouth while applying the ozone/air mixture into my mouth (this is extremely important to remember, otherwise you're going to gag if you breathe ozone into your lungs). The ozone hose brings the ozone into the mouth (and teeth, gums, etc) and the outlet hose allows the gas to exit. I keep my mouth closed during this application and it allows ozone gas to flow through my mouth cavity and will penetrate my gums and teeth.
I usually allow the ozone application to run for 10-20 minutes.
You can also rinse your mouth with 3% hydrogen peroxide many times during the day to help kill tooth and gum infection. I keep the peroxide in my mouth as long as possible before I have to spit it out. You can also swish colloidal silver around your mouth for 5-10 minutes and then swallow it. The can do the same thing with powdered Vitamin C in a form called "Ascorbate" You can either buy Calcium Ascorbate or Sodium Ascorbate from the health food store and dissolve a 1/2 teaspoon in a warm glass of water and swish around your mouth for 5 - 10 minutes and then swallow.
Another idea is to use a toothpaste that has anti-infection additives. They sell a toothpaste that uses colloidal silver or homeopathic silver. One brand is "SilvaFresh" by TriMedica www.trimedica.com (Tempe, Arizona)
I also use "Zinc Plus" by Vita-Myr www.vitamyr.com (toothpaste info courtesy of Luke Gatto)
If you have a Function Generator, you can set the frequencies to known teeth and gum infection agents published in Dr. Hulda Clark's books (and on my web site at http://educate-yourself.org/hc/huldaclarktoothfreqs02nov05.shtml) and frequency zap your mouth using copper pipe electrodes wrapped with a single layer of wet paper towel (as explained in Hulda's books).
Another idea is to use the North pole of a permanent magnet (not too big or powerful), taped against your cheek where you have the gum or tooth infection. Leave the magnet in place for 20 minutes to one hour and then remove for six hours and repeat the procedure. . The North pole of a magnet will reduce growth activity of all cells, including bacteria cells. It's quite AMAZING how well simple magnets work to knock down infections You don't usually need powerful magnets and you shouldn't leave them in place for too long or you may have an opposite effect from that which was desired.
A small red laser pointer, sometimes called a Cold Laser, can do wonders to stop gum infection and tooth decay. I shine my small red laser pointer around all my teeth and gums for 5 or 6 minutes, two or three times a day. .
It's not hard to kill teeth and gum infection if you apply the above techniques.
Root canal is a separate problem. If this is infected, the ozone may or may not get to it. You have to try for a while and see what you get. Hulda recommends removing all root canals as they are an unending source of infective agents leeching into the body (including the brain and organ systems) Read the book called Tooth Truth by Dr Frank Jerome. It's the best book in print on explaining why you can't use any metals in the mouth and why root canals and teeth implants are bad news. You can order the book directly from Dr Jerome's office by calling 1-812-376-8525 , Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Central time USA.
This book will discuss disturbing information. Most people have accepted whatever treatment their dentist has recommended without question. No one wants to learn that what dentists have had implanted in their bodies is a source of growing levels of substances that can wreck their immune system and destroy their most precious gift, good health.
Most of us expect good health, even while doing most everything we can to undermine it. We eat too much and rest too little. We actively seek vices that can slowly or quickly destroy us. We take unnecessary risks, as if we earn points for foolhardy behavior. The last thing any of wants to know is that there is another major source of ill health that is to some degree affecting all of us right this minute and will probably worsen every day. It is easy to turn a deaf ear to this information, but ignorance does not make it safe.
FDA ON MERCURY FILLINGS
Mercury in fillings has never been approved by the FDA, which has avoided classifying amalgam at all. The FDA says mercury fillings are a "reaction" product made by dentists, and therefore it is a dentist's responsibility to assure the product's safety. Does that make you feel safe?
SKILL LEVEL OF DENTISTS
Unfortunately, patients have little ability to tell one dentist from another. Many elieve that all dentists are the same, performing procedures equally well. If you think about that belief for a few seconds, you will realize how wrong it is. Patients who believe they can go to a big clinic staffed with dentists recently graduated from dental school, and still get quality care at rock bottom prices are deluding themselves.
A TOOTH IS AN ORGAN
A tooth is an organ, just as the heart or kidney or any bone in the body is an organ. An abscessed or gangrenous tooth is not only a dead tooth, it is a dead organ. The body does not like dead organs. The immune system does not recognize this now dead tissue as a part of itself and immediately sets out to eliminate or isolate it. The system must fight for as long as the tooth remains in the body and in many instances, it must fight against bacteria and toxins left after the tooth has been extracted.
