Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Resisting the Marxist Takedown of America
{Editor's Note: When I was in high school and learned that the United States congress would not go along with President Woodrow Wilson and join the League of Nations following World War I, I asked myself: why? It seemed like a no-brainer, based on the rosy picture of the League of Nations and its 1945 successor, the United Nations that our brain washed teacher painted for us. Why would a country like the United States, Defender of Freedom and Liberty around the world, NOT want to participate in an organization dedicated to preventing wars and violent conflicts? It seemed so SIMPLE.
What I didn't know then is what young hispanic Marxist hot heads, like "Gustavo" of KPFK radio out of Los Angeles, yammering away about the "fascist" Joe Arpaio doesn't knowtoday. The only thing standing between us and a communist style government in America is the US constitution and people like Joe Arpaio. The constitution means nothing by itself. It only has meaning and relevance when people like Joe Arpaio.try to uphold its tenets and enforce the laws intended to protect America and American citizens. For this, he will be mercilessly berated and vilified by witting or unwitting Marxists till the end of his days.
In this article, the Leftist sellout mayor of Phoenix, Arizona, Philip Gordon (touted as the first Jewish mayor of Phoenix) , characterizes Sheriff Arpaio enforcement of the law as a "reign of terror," while Mayor Gordon himself encourages the influx of illegal aliens into the Phoenix area with a policy of "sanctuary" or the intentional withholding of law enforcement practices against foreign nationals who illegally enter, work, reside, and feed off government services intended ONLY for the support of citizens of this nation. The other thing that this slanted article fails to mentions is the reign of crimethat illegal aliens are fueling throughout the state of Arizona, and especially in the "sanctuary" capital, Phoenix...Ken Adachi]

Joe Arpaio: He has been labelled the 'toughest sheriff in America.'
He rose to national prominence by opening his now infamous 'tent city' prison in Phoenix
Hispanics in Phoenix, Arizona, live on the patch of a man they call the "toughest sheriff in America", who, in his own way, has already been implementing many of the measures now contained in the new, state-wide immigration Bill.
He is Joe Arpaio, and stands as a symbol of what mortifies so many people about the new law – he is under investigation by the Justice Department for alleged civil rights abuses – and of the reasons it passed in the first place. And why the Governor, Janet Brewer, signed it. That's because Mr Arpaio, 77, does better with the voters the harsher he plays it. In November 2008 he was elected to serve as county sheriff for the fifth time.
In his first terms in office, Mr Arpaio was not focused on illegal immigration so much as crime generally. He rose to national prominence by opening his now infamous "tent city" prison in Phoenix, which remains in business today and was toured by this reporter last summer. Inmates boil under the canvas of army surplus tents, wear pink underclothes and sleep on pink sheets. Some work on chain gangs.

By turning his focus on illegal immigration, he has made himself more, not less, popular at the Phoenix ballot box. The Mayor, Philip Gordon, told The Independent of Mr Arpaio's "reign of terror" over the city with frequent, so-called "crime suppression" sweeps, which always seem to happen in the most Hispanic parts of town. Even a broken brake light is enough for Mr Arpaio's men to demand legal documentation.
Mr Arpaio acknowledged his tactics had meant that some Hispanics had become afraid even to go to church. But that was what he wanted. By his own calculation, he and his deputies had managed to drive as many as half of all the illegal immigrants out of the city. The Justice Department could go hang.
Mr Arpaio is not universally loved, but it is his political success that informed Governor Brewer when she signed the bill into law last week. She faces a tough primary race to remain in her job. But the sudden backlash may force the federal government to pass comprehensive immigration reform, with a form of amnesty for illegals already in the US. That would finally send Mr Arpaio into retirement.

FROM ARIZONA SENATOR.... TO THE PEOPLE.
Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen:
I'm Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen. I want to explain SB 1070 which I voted
for and was just signed by Governor Jan Brewer.
Rancher Rob Krantz was murdered by the drug cartel on his ranch a month ago. I
participated in a senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence, here is
just some of the highlights from those who testified.
The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the Arizona/Mexico Border have for
years been terrorized and have pleaded for help to stop the daily invasion of
humans who cross their property . One Rancher testified that 300 to 1200 people
a DAY come across his ranch vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles and
property, cutting down his fences, and leaving trash. In the last two years he
has found 17 dead bodies and two Koran bibles.
Another rancher testified that daily drugs are brought across his ranch in a
military operation. A point man with a machine gun goes in front, 1/2 mile
behind are the guards fully armed, 1/2 mile behind them are the drugs, behind
the drugs 1/2 mile are more guards. These people are violent and they will kill
anyone who gets in the way. This was not the only rancher we heard that day that
talked about the drug trains.
One man told of two illegal's who came upon his property one shot in the back
and the other in the arm by the drug runners who had forced them to carry the
drugs and then shot them. Daily they listen to gun fire during the night it is
not safe to leave his family alone on the ranch and they can't leave the ranch
for fear of nothing being left when they come back.
The border patrol is not on the border. They have set up 60 miles away with
check points that do nothing to stop the invasion. They are not allowed to use
force in stopping anyone who is entering. They run around chasing them, if they
get their hands on them then they can take them back across the border.
Federal prisons have over 35% illegal's and 20% of Arizona prisons are filled
with illegal's. In the last few years 80% of our law enforcement that have been
killed or wounded have been by an illegal.
The majority of people coming now are people we need to be worried about. The
ranchers told us that they have seen a change in the people coming they are not
just those who are looking for work and a better life.
The Federal Government has refused for years to do anything to help the border
states . We have been over run and once they are here we have the burden of
funding state services that they use. Education cost have been over a billion
dollars. The healthcare cost billions of dollars. Our State is broke, $3.5
billion deficit and we have many serious decisions to make. One is that we do
not have the money to care for any who are not here legally. It has to stop.
The border can be secured. We have the technology we have the ability to stop
this invasion. We must know who is coming and they must come in an organized
manner legally so that we can assimilate them into our population and protect
the sovereignty of our country. We are a nation of laws. We have a
responsibility to protect our citizens and to protect the integrity of our
country and the government which we live under.
I would give amnesty today to many, but here is the problem, we dare not do this
until the Border is secure. It will do no good to forgive them because thousands
will come behind them and we will be over run to the point that there will no
longer be the United States of America but a North American Union of open
borders. I ask you what form of government will we live under? How long will it
be before we will be just like Mexico , Canada or any of the other Central
American or South American countries? We have already lost our
language, everything must be printed in Spanish also. We have already lost our
history it is no longer taught in our schools. And we have lost our borders.
The leftist media has distorted what SB 1070 will do. It is not going to set up
a Nazi Germany. Are you kidding. The ACLU and the leftist courts will do
everything to protect those who are here illegally, but it was an effort to try
and stop illegal's from setting up businesses, and employment, and receiving
state services and give the ability to local law enforcement when there is
probable cause like a traffic stop to determine if they are here legally.
Federal law is very clear if you are here on a visa you must have your papers on
you at all times. That is the law. In Arizona all you need to show you are a
legal citizen is a driver license, MVD identification card,
Native American Card, or a Military ID. This is what you need to vote, get a
hunting license, etc.. So nothing new has been added to this law. No one is
going to be stopped walking down the street etc... The Socialist who are in
power in DC are angry because we dare try and do something and that something
the Socialist wants us to do is just let them come. They want the
"Transformation" to continue.
Maybe it is too late to save America . Maybe we are not worthy of freedom
anymore. But as an elected official I must try to do what I can to protect our
Constitutional Republic . Living in America is not a right just because you can
walk across the border. Being an American is a responsibility and it comes by
respecting and upholding the Constitution--- the law of our land which says what
you must do to be a citizen of this country. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
Senator Sylvia Allen

The following is an appeal to the understanding of due process within the Phoenix
City Council with respect to the political grandstanding by the weak and utterly
gutless Mayor Phil Gordon.

City Attorney Rules Against Mayor
Gordon
Dear Friends,
I have some important information from Phoenix City Attorney Gary Verburg to share
with you.
As you all know, Mayor Phil Gordon believed he had the ability to press a lawsuit
against the state of Arizona to halt the implementation of SB-1070. I, and a clear
majority of the council, let the mayor know that he could not take such action
without the consent of the City Council.
Attached is the letter from the city attorney outlining the fact that Mayor Gordon
cannot take such action without the approval of the council.
Your voice was definitely heard by me and my colleagues.
Like you, I feel that SB-1070 will make all Arizonans more safe and secure. Since
1999, eight Phoenix police officers have been murdered or seriously injured by
illegal immigrants. I feel this is unacceptable.
I admire the courage of the Arizona State Legislature and Governor Jan Brewer in
passing and signing this bill into law; a law which an overwhelming majority of
Arizonans support.
Thank you again for all of your support,
Sal DiCiccio
Phoenix City Councilman

Arizona is the last line of defense in the border battle or so it would seem. When
in reality, the real battle is the unsavory backdoor moves by this criminal
administration to purchase votes at all costs. The list of criminal behavior is so
extensive that it would be difficult to identify, therefore, the subject matter in
this article is limited to immigration and Sheriff Joe.
We need more standup people like Joe, not Phil Gordon.

Subject: The Arizona law
Hi Ken,
I'm surprised you're in favor of this law. I'm opposed to illegal immigration, but this law strikes me as a stalking horse for the national ID card. Am I wrong about this?
Matt S

Hi Matt,
If you're an American and you lived in southern Arizona on a ranch and had to directly confront the impositions of illegal aliens, I think you would have a very different point of view. Some people hold a very liberal view of crime and the treatment of criminals until they are victimized by it in a direct and forceful way. They say that one definition of a Conservative is a Liberal who's been mugged and there's much truth to that statement.
I don't support national ID cards for American citizens, but that's not the issue. The issue is the RIGHT of Arizonans to live and work in their state without putting up with the cost and crime imposed by hordes of illegal aliens. The issue is the RIGHT of law enforcement officials, who represent the collective will of the legitimate citizens of Arizona, to be able to interdict the illegal presence of and illegal work activity of illegal aliens who are engaging in a CRIME by virtue of their trespassing on America soil without government authorization.
Illegal aliens DO NOT POSSESS any of the rights under the US. Constitution guaranteed to American citizens. They are not citizens and therefore they enjoy no benefits under our constitution, despite the ridiculous and pathetic statements to the contrary made ad nausea by advocates for illegal aliens.
When you travel to other foreign countries, such as Japan, you are REQUIRED to keep your passport on you at all times in case a policeman or government official asks you to identify yourself. Every other country in the world REQUIRES you to identify yourself if you are a foreigner in that country--including Mexico.
Is there some LEGITIMATE reason why the people of the United States cannot expect that same level of security from its government to keep out trespassers and hooligans ?
I'm going to be the first one to shout like hell if they try to use this scenario to justify national ID cards, but I'm totally in favor of FOREIGN nationals being required to identify themselves to PROVE their legal status in this country. And I'm all for doing whatever it takes to kick out every single, last illegal alien walking around unfettered to do whatever he pleases in MY country.
Regards, Ken

Hi Ken,
You've made some good points. And as long as this law is only used against illegal aliens, and not to harass American Citizens, I'm all for it. Take care,
