The Jeffrey McaDonald Mystery continues with a life of its own. Now, 37 years after the brutal murders of the former Army doctor's wife and his young daughters on Fort Bragg, there are new revelations.
Court records state that Helena Stoeckley told her mother that Macdonald, now 63, is innocent. Stoeckley's mother lives in a Fayetteville nurnsing home. MacDonald was convicted of the murders in 1979. Helena Stoeckley, the daughter, died in 1983, and apparently just before her death told her mother that MacDonald was not guilty.
She told her mother, according to a March 31 affidavit, that she was with two men who perpetrated the crimes.
So, who done it?
Some folks say MacDonald killed his family.
Others disagree.
I don't know.
I do know Mrs.Stoeckley, the mother, and I never knew her to tell lies.
