Subject: Senate Bill S-1867
From: Neil (California)
Date: Sun, December 4, 2011
To: Ken AdachiHi Ken,
Thank you for keeping this important event in the forefront. I'm not surprised by the bill as much as Im troubled by the lack of coverage in the
mainstream media and even C-SPAN. CSPAN which covers any activity in congress, hasn't even been discussed the bill or brought it to any of its viewers attention, as far as I know on the Washington Journal, a live show each day discussing national issues where callers are allowed to call to comment or ask guests questions live. Here's an update on the bill below,
Again, Much Respect to you Ken.

UPDATED: Second Chance to Prevent Indefinite Detention of Americans
[Editor's Note: I'm sorry to say that the hopeful information presented below is out of date and no longer applies. S-1867 was PASSED by the U.S. Senate on Dec. 2 and the two amendments mentioned below to specifically exempt American citizens from the "snatch and grab" military abduction list were REJECTED on Dec. 1 by the NWO henchmen and traitors in the United States Senate. The roll call vote for both defeated senate amendments is listed further below. If this despicable, treason-laden bill becomes law, any American citizen will be eligible to be snatched from his home by military personnel and whisked off to Guantanamo for no other reason than being placed on a list of "suspects" assembled by a secret panel accountable to no one except the President. This is the very definition of dictatorship and tyranny. ...Ken Adachi]
UPDATE: Roll Call's for both amendments are listed below the fold. A vote could occur today on two amendments introduced to prevent the indefinite detention of American citizens as currently written into the National Defense Authorization Act, S. 1867. Senate Amendment (SA) 1126 would "clarify" Section 1031 to explicitly state within the section that the authority of the military to detain persons without trial until the end of hostilities does not apply to American citizens. [Update: Voted down 45-55]
SA 1125 would limit the mandatory detention provision in Section 1032 to persons captured abroad, not in America. [Update: Voted down, 45-55] While there are certainly still problems with the indefinite detention of any persons without trial in a seemingly endless "war on terror," both of these amendments will remove the worst offending provisions against American citizens and prevent turning America into a battlefield.
Contact your senators ASAP at 202-224-3121 to demand they support SA 1125 & 1126 to the National Defense Authorization Act, S. 1867 to prevent the indefinite detention of American citizens. Below is a list of senators C4L has identified as targets for these amendments, if
you live in their state, definitely make sure you contact them immediately!Corker (TN) 202-224-3344
