hi, ken,

i just went through a year of valley fever....first, i got sick...very fatigued, horrible headaches, rashes etc, etc...i started with my"regular" doctors...ALL OF WHOM TOLD ME THAT VALLEY FEVER DID NOT EXIST IN LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA....after blood tests, urine tests, x-rays, cat-scans and pet-scans...over $2000.00, out of pocket and MONTHS of continued misery with no explanations...i asked to be tested for valley fever....then i was told THERE IS NO TEST FOR VALLEY FEVER, BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE IT HERE....longer story shortened...after continued misery that was starting to wreck my life/marriage/ employment...

i went to a walk-in clinic and DEMANDED a blood test for valley fever ("cocci-disease")....after 15 minutes of argument, the person in charge that day, finally relented and took my blood..and sent it to a lab....next thing i knew, a lady from the "arizona board of health" called me and told me to report to the lake havasu city wing of the az. board of health BECAUSE I TESTED POSITIVE FOR VALLEY FEVER, AND NOW, I ALSO NEEDED TO BE TESTED FOR  UBERCULOSIS!).....well, my original doctor poo-pood it and told me i "hardly had any cocci in my blood"...and reluctantly gave me a scrip for diflucan...after his demeaning, humiliating,uncaring, and extremely expensive treatment of my illness, i found another doctor....an hour's drive across the desert from me, who routinely treated the disease...i took 400 mgs. of diflucan for 10 weeks...at which time, my insides felt like they were congealed, my skin looked like alligator skin, and my face swelled up, my eyes swelled shut, and the skin on my face peeled off, after several painful days....of course, i called the doctor...who informed me that DIFLUCAN HAS NO SIDE EFFECTS... I MUST HAVE EATEN SOME BAD SHELLFISH..CONTINUE THE DIFLUCAN AND TAKE BENADRY..

.ha!...of course, i quit taking the diflucan, and the symptoms started to subside....BUT..after being outright LIED to and deceived ....MY BOTTOM LINE IS....WHO CAN YOU DIRECT ME TO WHO IS EXPERIENCED WITH THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE AND IT'S EQUALLY HORRIBLE "CURES"...AND WHO IS WILLING TO DISCUSS VALLEY FEVER WITH ME?....if you can send me in the right direction...or if one of your readers can, i will be ETERNALLY grateful!...THE RUN-AROUND I GET AT EVERY TURN IS EXCRUCIATING...MUCH LIKE THE LYME DISEASE COVER-UP/RUN-AROUND I GOT WHEN MY ENTIRE FAMILY CAME DOWN WITH IT (lyme), IN NEW JERSEY IN THE 90'S..

Hi Dory,

I can give you a name, but I can't guarantee anything. I don't go to allopathic doctors. They don't know what they're doing and they employ the worst possible "medicine" to address disease conditions. I'd much prefer the advice of Naturopaths or Homeopaths or traditional Chinese doctors, but never an allopath.

As far as your lousy, incompetent and arrogant abuse, I have two words for you: "junkyard attorney"; the pitbull variety who specializes in medical malpractice lawsuits.
