Walt Woods, Master Dowser (& Inspiring Teacher), Dies on August 12, 2011 at Age 85 (Aug. 13, 2011)

I received a phone call this morning from an old friend, Pat, who told me that Walt Woods had passed away. He was 85 years old. His wife, Madi, reported that Walt died a little after midnight in the early morning hours of August 12, 2011

Walt had recently been hospitalized in northern California. Friends of Walt's reported that they had lunch with him at his hospital location on August 11, just 12 hours or so prior to his passing.

In addition to Walt's many positions held as a master dowser, including current president of the Sierra Dowsers Chapter, Walt was also Founder and First President of the Subtle Energy Research Institute (SERI) http://seri-worldwide.org/

Walt had been a teacher in radiobiology for many years prior to his 'retirement' and his new career as dowsing seminar leader.

I attended many master classes and workshops with Walt Woods. He was a wonderful and inspiring human being. He created enthusiasm and joy in all he met and talked to. As a teacher, he could hold his class spellbound with a well balanced mix of amazing information coupled with wit, humor, and cartoon jokes. I loved the guy. He's the sort of teacher that everyone should encounter in high school, college, and beyond.

His ability as a dowser was uncanny. He could derive the answer to just about any question posed if you learned how to frame the question correctly-and that's exactly what Walt taught you in his dowsing seminars. Of course, many people know of the name Walt Woods from his wonderful little booklet called A Letter to Robin, which is still available on the Products page. .

The extraordinary knowledge freely shared by Walt Woods will remain with me, and all of his student, forever. I learned so much from him about metaphysics, science, and the workings of the spirit realm. He was like an Arthur C. Clark, Lopsang Rampa, and Yogananda character rolled into one unassuming and modest mannered man, but a very powerful individual and great in the ways that count.

He will be sorely missed on the earthly plane, but I -and everyone who knew him- know full well that he will be continuing his work as a gifted teacher and inspirational model for many other souls who may encounter his wonderful presence on different planes of existence.

God Bless you Walt, you did a magnificent job to help so many to see the Light and the true path to follow in life. .

Walt Woods

Sadly I have to announce that my dear friend and dowsing mentor, Walt Woods, a long time resident of Oroville CA, passed away a little after midnight Aug 12th. Walt was a retired college professor, past president of the American Society of Dowsers, Chairman of the Sierra Dowsers and a mentor to many of us dowsers.

Walt was a very caring and giving person who devoted endless hours to helping others and teach others what he had learned. I remember when I first met Walt in 1977 and being fascinated by everything he had to say about dowsing, spirituality, and his intriguing stories. He would stay after his classes and answer all of our questions. Sometimes we stayed up till 2am in the morning.

I spoke with Walt last week and he said he had cancelled his talk in Redding CA. He said he was getting too old to travel and that there was a big energy shift coming and he wasn’t sure what “they” had in store for him. Now we know, as sad as it is on our end. We are all devastated by Walt’s sudden departure as I think most of us thought of Walt as timeless. And of course he is, as we all are, timeless in one form or another.

I asked Mardi if it was ok to send flowers or make a donation in Walt’s honor. She said just come, no need to bring anything. But if you are unable to come and If you wish to send flowers that is ok but not necessary.
